The two Upper Austrian women Anna Franz and Elisabeth Bauer are behind the CALEO Cashmere brand. The two friends founded their label CALEO Cashmere in 2013 and have been working with passion and ambition on their own personal cashmere collection ever since. In the beginning, four years earlier, the two entrepreneurs started with small orders in the fashion industry and arranged sales at Christmas markets, pop-ups and country fairs as part of cooperations with selected Italian companies.

In memory of this early period, when they took constant small steps into new business and cared for their families full-time, the inspiration for the name of the label came from their children CArolina and LEOpoldo.

With Anna's experience in the hotel and tourism industry and Elisabeth's event management and PR knowledge, they built on close contacts from Italy and established step by step trusting and long-term business relationships with Italian family knitting factories and yarn producers. All the newly gathered experience turned the former career changers into tried and tested business women and designers.

CALEO Cashmere is timeless, personal and reliable. For this reason, proximity to producers and buyers is always in the foreground. Anna and Elisabeth maintain personal customer contact in the CALEO STORE in their home town of Gmunden, as well as in Austria-wide pop-ups. The direct contact shows how much CALEO customers appreciate the beautiful quality, fair prices and pure processing of cashmere. In addition, CALEO Cashmere is now available in first-class shops from Kitzbühel to Vienna.

The entire range is produced in small, family-run knitting factories in Tuscany.
